What did you do prior to entering the seminary?
Prior to entering the entering Seminary I was a mortgage agent for Safebridge Mortgages.
What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?
I would say the influences that led to me applying and subsequently entering the Seminary are wide-ranging and multi-faceted, but I guess the simplest way of putting it would be to say that the sum total of my experiences and interactions with others left me with a deep desire to devote my life to God by serving his people.
Why do you desire to be a priest?
I guess I partially answered this already, but I want to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ. I lived an incredibly secular life, which led only to fleeting pleasure and temporary happiness, but in living a live devoted to the Lord I experience a peace and joy which I never thought existed and I want to share this with others.
What is your favourite quote?
You have made us for Yourself O Lord, and our hearts remain restless until they rest in You” – St. Augustine
Who is your favourite Saint and why?
This is a tough question, but I would have to say St. Augustine because when I was returning to my faith the similarity of my conversion to his own, as detailed in the Confessions, brought about a profound and lasting change in my life.
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?
Devote yourself to prayer, the reading of the scriptures, and then eventually read the lives and writings of the Saints. But primarily focus on reading the Holy Scriptures because to quote St Jerome “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ”.
