Arts Year 3 - West Middlesex Catholic Family of Parishes
What did you do prior to entering seminary? After high school, I decided to take a year off and work full time at the Real Canadian Superstore. I then worked on applying to the seminary in late December.
What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance? I felt a calling in my heart to enter the seminary, and I decided that I will listen to God, and he will guide me to let me know if this is my calling or not.
Why do you want to be a priest? Since I was young, I loved serving mass and enjoyed helping the priest; then, around grade 9, a thought came to my mind if I became a priest. I cherished serving mass so much that it would be an honour to spread that passion to others!
What are your favorite pastimes? I'm quite a simple person I enjoy hanging with friends, movies, and playing video games before entering the seminary, yes I still enjoy these things, but I have found new passions going to daily mass, saying prayers, and just spending quiet time in the chapel with our Lord.
What is your favorite quote? "If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you'll be right. Every morning I looked in the mirror and asked myself: If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I do today" - Steve Jobs
Who is your favorite Saint and why? Saint Maximilian Kolbe is my favorite saint because he dared to offer his life for another, I hope that if the time came, I would have the same courage.
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary? Pray about it, speak with your Parish Priest and, most importantly, speak with the vocations director. They are always willing to help and enjoy talking about these types of matters! Come and see weekends are also an excellent opportunity to see what life is like in the seminary!
